What is NJ ZIP?
NJ ZIP is a voucher program that provides funding for heavy and medium-duty zero-emission vehicles through point-of-purchase price reductions.
You can consider NJ ZIP vouchers a type of “coupon” that fleets can use at the time of placing their purchase order.
Funding will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

What are the voucher amounts?

| 14,001 – 16,000 lbs | Class 4 | $65,000 |
| 16,001 – 19,500 lbs | Class 5 | $75,000 |
| 19,501 – 26,000 lbs | Class 6 | $90,000 |
Fleets can receive stackable bonuses for the following:
- Certified woman-, minority-, or veteran-owned business bonus: 4% per qualification
- Small business bonus: 25% increase of the base voucher amount per vehicle
- School Bus Bonus: 25% if the applicant is purchasing a school bus
- Small business vehicle scrappage bonus:
- $3,000 per vehicle scrapped and replaced with a NJ ZIP-funded ZEV
Who can use the funds?
Commercial, industrial, or institutional fleets with vehicles that operate 75% of their miles in New Jersey.
I don’t have charging infrastructure, should I still apply?
Yes! We often tell our customers to start planning for charging infrastructure before or at the same time as they begin their EV procurement process.
I need financing, is support available?
New Jersey is offering NJ Zero Emissions Vehicle (ZEV) Financing, a $25M financing program that offers fixed, low-interest rate loans, ranging from $50,000 to $500,000 for up to a maximum of 100% of eligible vehicle costs.
